Top 20 Home Tours of All Time: #8 A Customized, Parisian Home Built to Last

by Grace Bonney

Today’s #8 spot on the Top 20 Design*Sponge Home Tours belongs to a home that generated a lot of conversation. The Parisian home of Romain Chirat and Jean showcases stunning wallpaper, a sleek modern bathroom, an adorable Jack Russell Terrier and — here comes the controversy — a bold piece of taxidermy. Taxidermy has long been a conversation-generating topic here at Design*Sponge, with heated points of view coming from both sides of the spectrum. I love when design can generate a passionate debate and touch on more serious issues. Those discussions remind me that the things we may write off as superficial or “just” about design, are actually connected to all of the bigger issues we discuss outside of the world of design, too. I hope you’ll enjoy today’s revisiting of Romain and Jean’s home tour and will consider sharing your thoughts on issues this tour touches on, too! xo, Grace
