11 Modern Menorahs

by Grace Bonney

Every year, Julia makes us a new DIY menorah that involves some sort of clever woodwork. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with this year, but in the meantime, I’m excited to share some of my favorite modern menorahs for anyone looking to change up their family’s Hanukkah routine. From gold dinosaurs and blooming brass designs to handmade ceramic versions and styles made from marble, these designs will offer up a modern spin on a traditional holiday. xo, grace

  • I LOVE that you have Lisa Pierce’s Menorasaur! We are both members of the same congregation, and she was one of the most welcoming when we first joined (she still is!). We’ll be taking our kids to see the menorahs on display at the Maine Jewish museum in the next weeks, and I’m sure they’ll love it.

  • i recently ordered a dinosaur menorah! based on my two year old’s interests, this year’s chrismukkuah decorations are gold dino themed.

  • so i’m not of the jewish faith but i would buy every one of these ! that marble one??? and the menorasaurus??? now i have to go make one.

  • I love all of these!

But if I’m not mistaken, aren’t these technically Hanukiah, and not menorahs?

  • Great selection! I hate to be a stickler for accuracy but technically the eight main lights must be on the same level for a Hanukkah menorah to be considered “kosher”. Too bad because that menorasaurus is awesome!
