24 Hours in San José & Escazú, Costa Rica

by Sabrina Smelko

Carol Girón Bess-Oberto is all about the simple pleasures in life. The blogger behind OY! and the brains behind the gift and souvenir shop OH yei!®, Carol has called Costa Rica home for nearly five years. Originally hailing from Mexico, she fell in love with Costa Rica after meeting her now-husband (and Costa Rica-native). When they were first deciding where to settle and start their family, Costa Rica became the clear and easy winner. Between the relaxed culture and atmosphere it boasts, the biodiversity and lush, rugged, rain forest climate and vegetation, it isn’t hard to fall in love with Costa Rica, or as Carol calls it, “the happiest place on earth.”

Attracting ecotourists, beach loungers and backpackers alike, Costa Rica is filled with pura vida! (or “pure life” in Spanish), a common local expression. So today we’re excited to depart from the seemingly early-fall weather to escape to lush and warm Costa Rica as Carol takes us through a leisurely day in the regions of San José and Escazú! –Sabrina
