katie runnels

by Grace Bonney

good morning! today is our last day in savannah and i’d be remiss to visit the home of shop scad and not mention artist katie runnels. i’ve been a fan of katie’s work for a while now but i always deeper in love with her pieces when i get to see them in person. shop scad has a huge collection of katie’s work, but you can also browse her pieces on flickr, her blog and buy them for yourself at her etsy shop. right now i’m loving these crafty wreaths- bits and pieces of them are going onto my wedding inspiration board- which is just now starting to come together. i’ll be sharing the ideas i have so far in a few weeks…

  • Grace, these photos are cheerful! I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of camera you use when you take pictures, unless of course it’s one of those “I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you type situations”, only kidding of course. Have a cheerful day!

  • these are fab! I knew katie when I was at SCAD. she is an amazing artist! and sweetheart!

  • What a beautiful use of yarn! These are great. As a SCAD alum it’s so great to see your posts about Savannah. It is a wonderful place for a wedding! My hubby and I met while at SCAD and married there 6 years ago this month!

Oh, and btw, the etsy shop link in your post is broken. Her etsy shop is just “constantgatherer”.

  • this is super adorable.

G- I cannot wait to see what you come up with for your wedding after hearing about this inspiration board. i’m no where near engaged but will keep you bookmarked no doubt when my turn comes along. all the best!

  • Thank you for sharing! I’m a SCAD alum too and I love the wreaths! I ordered the green and turquoise one for my mom. It’s so nice to give not only a handmade gift but support a fellow SCAD alum.

  • Grace,

I am so happy you love KT. She is a buddy of mine and I am sure she is absolutely over the moon about your mention. If you get a chance read her posts from Oct. 2007. You will see some pictures from her wedding. They are lovely.
