Morning guys- I’m still dragging myself out of bed but I thought something cute to start the day early wouldn’t hurt. This adorable wallpaper was designed by Australia illustrator and textile designer Binny Talib. Binny has a line of children’s wallpaper that is sweet and whimsical and perfect for a wide range of ages. This “Pups in Cups” pattern is my favorite and I can’t say a small part of me wouldn’t be tempted to use this in my own home. I’d probably stop myself because I’m pretty sure it would lead to comments like, “Oh, I didn’t know you had kids?”. Though I’ve been asked that question before after people see the collection of Rock Band video equipment we have.

You can check out Binny’s full collection right here and buy them online here, here and here. Thanks to Binny’s friend Sandra for the tip! xo, grace

While a big part of me is still overwhelmed that most of my friends now have children or are about to, I relish my role as the last-minute babysitter, tiny hand-holder and excited gift-buyer. While I may not delve deep into children’s design here at D*S yet, in my personal life I really enjoy getting to buy tiny clothes, accessories and home goods for little ones. And sometimes I find myself wanting adult-sized versions of kids products because they’re so darn cute.

This is definitely the case with the new children’s bedding line called Auggie (such an adorable name). Founded by sisters Gen and Cristina Burgess in Toronto, Auggie features a subdued but still cheerful collection of bedding that works for cribs and beds. Made in India, each of the collections has the sort of delicate pattern work that I love in children’s design and secretly wish I could use in my own bedroom (especially the little pink flowers). If you’re in the market for sweet bedding for little ones, click here to check out (and shop) the Auggie collection online. If these guys ever branch out into grown-up-sized bedding I’m totally in. Thanks to Anna for the tip! xo, grace

Get your pencils ready, everyone. There are enough great ideas in this shop design by designer and event planner Sharon Taylor to decorate ten stores. For the creation of the Missouri-based children’s boutique Jellybeans, Sharon not only sourced most of the materials at local flea markets and on eBay, but she also worked with local artisans, art students and others to completely transform this defunct shop space into the most fantastical and beautiful interior.

From a child’s perspective, this space is clearly heavenly, but I love that it is also an environment that adults can appreciate and enjoy. I think this is due to Sharon’s smart, sophisticated color palette and her modern graphic elements, not to mention her creative manipulation of antique furniture pieces. Overall this is such a stunning space. I wish I could step inside immediately and stay for hours. Amazing work, Sharon! — Kate

I love to see people using rooms for things other than their customary purpose. Corissa and Kris needed a place to dine, and since they have no space for a table in their kitchen, they decided to turn a spare bedroom into a dining room. For a “formal” dining room, this has a great casual style. I’ve been a little timid about painting my walls a dark color, but this is another example of how successful it can be. Great work, Corissa! — Kate

When I was little, I was obsessed with fake food. In one of our family albums, we have a photograph of me at age three, dancing with glee behind a small shopping cart of plastic food wares. I would be lying if I said that I’d completely outgrown this childhood love, and when I saw this adorable play kitchen from Amy, I had a very strong desire to break out my old shopping cart and regress for a few hours. Click here to read more about how Amy’s parents turned this old TV table into a lovely repurposed play kitchen for their granddaughter and Amy’s daughter, Milla. I’m <del>quickly approaching</del> at that age when just about every one of my friends has a baby or is expecting one. While this means that I get a lot of those looks (you know the ones) from friends and family, it also means that I get to expand my shopping horizons a bit by hunting for cute baby gifts. Normally I go for more practical gifts, but lately I’ve been impressed with registry lists that included artwork, activity-based gifts and ideas for great charities. I’ve tested all three with success but my favorite is almost always artwork, primarily because there are so many cute options available. These new prints from Ubabub are some of my favorites. Sweet, simple and colorful, they’re perfect for any age and would transition nicely from child to parent areas. If you’re looking for a gift or new artwork for your own little one’s room, these prints are a great option. Click here to check out the full collection online ($69 each). xo, grace

Today’s first Before & After project from Cate definitely yielded one of those “Why-didn’t-I think-of that?” moments for me. Cate found this amazing printed alphabet gift wrap by Sukie on sale while shopping at the Papier Gourmet in Portland and she had the ingenious notion to turn it into laminated letter cards for her son, Tucker. I love how quick, easy and inexpensive this is, plus it makes for a perfect gift when cutely tied up, as Cate has done. Tucker seems to think it’s a pretty awesome idea, as well. Thanks for sharing, Cate! — Kate
