It doesn’t matter how far we delve into digital devices for media and communication; I think I will always feel a little rush of excitement when the mailman comes and the hope that maybe I received a package or a note from someone unexpected. The best way to ensure that you receive that kind of correspondence is to send it out yourself, and that is exactly the idea behind the We Love Mail competition being held by Newspaper Taxi, a boutique stationery and paper good shop in Australia.

Simply send Newspaper Taxi a piece of mail with a little stationery-related treat tucked inside — a luggage tag, some stickers, a couple old stamps. They will use all the mail for a window display, and then they’ll draw three lucky winners. Runners up will receive these pretty notecard bundles from Rifle Paper Co. and Sycamore Street Press (below), and first prize will receive all of the mailed-in loot! Sounds like a pretty fun way to ease back into sending more snail mail, and I can’t wait to see how the window turns out! The contest ends November 4th. You can find out everything you need to know to participate by clicking here. — Kate

Around this time every year, my parents would go on a mission to get the garage organized. Everything would come out, the cement floor swept and hosed off, and then it would all go back in. In a family of six, this was no small feat, and pitchers of sun tea were necessary to sustain the work effort. Let’s be honest; as a teenager, I would do my best to make myself scarce. But I’d like to think that if I had these cute organizing tools, I would have been a better sport. — Amy A.

I’ve always been something of a pattern nut, but I’ve gotten better about not combining them like a crazy person. Then I saw Kate’s post on custom patterns & prints for tech devices and immediately felt the desire to get at least five different prints for everything I lug around in my bag. I’ll try to avoid pattern overload, but her picks for phones, laptop cases and iPad covers are so cute that it’s going to be a struggle. If you’re stronger than I am and can resist ordering all of these, check out her full selection of patterned/printed cases and covers for all of your tech accessories right here on MyLifeScoop. xo, grace

I’ve been on a serious “less is more” kick for almost a year now, and it’s managed to trickle down to every aspect of my life. From my wardrobe and home goods to my taste in cards, everything seems to feel better when it’s pared down to the basic elements. These sweet cards from Tabletop Made in Santa Barbara are a great example — they use simple (in the best way possible) designs to convey messages that don’t need a lot of dressing up. Sometimes, a little heart is all you need. Click here to shop all of Tabletop Made’s cards online. xo, grace
