Floral Collages by Ben Giles + Best of the Web

by Grace Bonney

One of my favorite ways to discover new (to me) artists is to scroll through the archives of the Google Doodles page. So many amazing creatives have made original artwork, collages and animations for Google’s search home page. This week there was an incredible collage ode to horticulturist and garden designer Gertrude Jekyll made by artist Ben Giles, so I wanted to share some more of Ben’s work here. I can’t get enough of these bold, colorful and deeply layered piece. They feel like a kaleidoscope of print and pattern and they’re the perfect bit of design inspiration to get through the end of the day. Until Monday, here’s wishing you all a safe and happy weekend! xo, Grace

I’m kind of obsessed with Cécile Daladier’s DIY Garland made of found bits and bobs. It’s super minimal and not as festive and overwhelming as we’re used to with holiday decor, but something about this feels so simple and perfect. (via Remodelista)

  • I’m so excited to see Cardamom and Tea featured! Her blog is so great – so wonderful that she won “Best New Voice” from the Saveur Blog Awards this year!

  • I had to laugh at “It’s never too late” – great women all in their 30s – not only is it not too late, 30s is just the beginning!
