Flipping through #dslooking on Instagram brings on endless amounts of inspiration for me. Who knew when D*S launched the tag as part of a weekly hashtag challenge it would still be such a gold mine 3 and a half years later? I think what is most impressive about it to me is that every time I look through it, I’m reminded that there are so many ways people express themselves, their creativity and what they find beautiful. This week I followed a rabbit trail that originated on the #dslooking feed and found myself on the profile of @slow_stitch_sophie. Sophie’s ability to make embroidered stitches look like lush, textural fields of flowers is astounding. Her eye for color and form make her stitched artwork come to life. She may not have a website or even a last name to Google but she is absolutely an artist to watch. –Lauren

  • Bored to Life:Β Being bored isn’t a bad thing. In fact this study conducted atΒ the University of Central Lancashire found that boredom leads to greater creativity and innovation immediately after.
  • Get a Hobby:Β In an age of freelancing, remote work and side hustles, free time seems to be taken up the never-ending pile of work to do. Step away and learn something new.
  • On Trend: Domino has rounded up terrazzo home goods at their best.
  • Pillow Talk: These floor plans and design ideas are for the normal-sized to small bedroom that needs some inspiration.
  • Hair Full of Secrets: The more I learn about the lack of FDA laws in women’s makeup and hair products, the more thankful I am for companies lobbying for toxin-free beauty. This new hair collection is on my wishlist.
  • The Dreamers: Imbolo Mbue talks empathy, immigration and class in her article with Vogue.
