10 Colorful Accent Pieces at Target Right Now

by D*S Market Editors

We love the look of circular shapes on the wall lately, and these colorful, woven pieces capture the look and feel of summer. If you missed our post on plates displayed as wall décor, check it out here!

Our question — Why not spend the summer looking for vintage plates for a winter wall, while gazing at woven pieces during the warm months? The vignette above shows some of our favorite pieces from the Target summer collection, online now. Not all pieces are carried in-store. Here’s a closer look. (Just click the image to get the details on Target’s online shop!)

From their Threshold line, this chair continues the woven theme that works so well for summer. Topped with a warm throw or sheepskin, it can move into autumn effortlessly.

If you’re going for a global style, you need a wooden animal somewhere. If the thrift store is sold out, you can adopt this one.

  • Some of these things are nice, but that doesn’t excuse DS from posting a simple advertisement. This is the sort of thing I see on Apartment Therapy (and rarely look at). It’s so far from the kinds of posts DS made before revamping the site. In fact, I really miss the old DS, which was thoughtful, had posts that were more than just snippets of fluff or eye-candy listicles, and showcased truly original homes and points of view. I used to feel like I often learned something when I read DS. Now, DS seems almost generic. It’s sad.

We actually post fewer sponsored posts than we used to. Can you explain to me what else on the site feels like a listicle that you don’t like? I can speak from a place of stats and tell you it’s categorically untrue that we post more list sponsored and/or “fluff” now than before.

  • I feel the same as Meg. Maybe the content hasn’t gotten lighter, but the headlines certainly have – 10 ways to X, 13 reasons Y. I don’t click on those kinds of stories, so although I’ve been a reader for over 10 years, I haven’t been reading lately. Just happened to check in today on a whim.

    • Hi Sarah

Thanks for letting us know! It’s good information for us regarding titles & headlines. Quick question though — do you dislike those headlines only in relation to posts related to products? I ask because we occasionally we create interior or decorating posts that reference say, 10 rooms where color dominates… and I’m wondering if they have the same effect for you.

      Thanks in advance!

  • My goodness, are people so critical?
Keep up the good work guys!
Some of us like lists. Some of us are more visually inclined and don’t need to know every detail of a home owner’s life.
I think there is a good balance.

  • I love lists as well! I am way behind on my blog reading (I have a 1 year old…) and only just got to this post. I’m just sad that most of these things are out of stock now.

Thanks for all the hard work you do, and yes some readers LOVE these short and sweet list-style posts! In fact, I am way more likely to read these than some others solely because I have a short amount of time to peek at my rss feed!
