In a world of ever-expanding Pantone swatches and paint colors, the options for someone looking to incorporate a unique hue into their home are increasingly endless. Two possibilities seem to still snag much attention from homeowners and designers alike: green and brown. It makes sense. They nearly always lead to fabulous results when gracing a wall or statement decoration, and if you ask me, it’s because of their ability to add an organic, earthy tone to a space.

I’m not alone in my love for these two natural shades either. It seems the homeowners we’ve featured over the years have a similar affinity for these two as well. As I looked back through our archives I came across countless beautiful apartments and homesteads decked out in verdant and/or coffee-like tones. I’ve rounded up the best of the best in this handy collection of 10 of our favorite green & brown spaces we’ve ever featured. As you’ll see, some are for vintage fans, and others are sleek and fancy. No matter the style, they each beckon to be cozied into thanks to two of Mother Nature’s best colors. Enjoy! —Garrett

Perfumer Holladay's Harlem home is filled with pieces collected from vintage shops and secondhand stores. She found this Otomi print in the back of one of these very spots. Unfortunately, it was in less-than-stellar shape, but by backing it with canvas she's been able to give it a second life.

Jessica Barley draped her bedroom in a rich tone because she loves the coziness darker hues add to a space. Deep colors like this can sometimes make a room feel formal, but Jessica's cleverly paired the walls with wrinkly bedding and an iron headboard to help it read more casual than fancy.

Located in an 1800s-era building, Nikki-lee's Kojo & Lee Salon space combines traditional parlor details with florals to create a setting that's both rustic and Victorian. "The whole Kojo & Lee experience is completely different from a traditional salon; there is just a door on the street with no sign and an intercom to my room. It's appointment only, so you wouldn't know there was a salon there unless you'd made an appointment first. Once you are buzzed in, you go through the dimly-lit corridor and up the staircase into the main room. [Here] you are met with a big -- but warm -- inviting room with beautiful big windows to stream in the all-important natural light," she explains.

Like many of us, Kelley of Hunt & Gather stores her oldest and least-favorite decor in her attic. Furniture graveyards aren't typically this stylish, though. Her space's chocolate tones all sweetly work in tandem.

Many couples have faced the age-old challenge of balancing one partner's love for neutrals with the other's penchant for color. Raina and her husband Robert tackled this by painting the walls a zippy lime while keeping furniture and accessories desaturated.

When Brittany and Justin tore up their Missouri home's dingy carpet they discovered the wood floors below were in pretty bad shape. While most homeowners would have replaced them altogether or stained them a traditional color, the pair veered left and doused theirs in punchy green.

Ali and Jonny's San Francisco, CA apartment isn't huge, so their bedroom doubles as Ali's home office, hence the combination desk/side table. Wallpaper by Anthropologie.

Susana Ordovás' Mexican Home is filled to the brim with green accents. The bold color scheme was inspired by a small family heirloom: an egg decoration made of African malachite. Wallpaper by Cole & Son.
