Book Preview: Urban Jungle: Living & Styling with Plants
From the second you step inside the home of plant enthusiast Igor Josifovic, you can tell he has a serious green thumb. Plants pepper the windowsills in his bedroom and drape themselves over the living room’s tables. It’s an enviable style, and one I personally never tire of. I recently got to further scratch my itch for green interiors when I previewed the new book he’s put together with Judith de Graaff titled Urban Jungle: Living and Styling with Plants. The publication is a gold mine of plant-styling tips as well as tricks that’ll have your greenery flourishing in no time.
It doesn’t stop there, though. Igor and Judith have filled the book with tours of five fabulous homes. In their own way, each one shows off “…how beautiful, unique, creative and even artistic living with plants can be,” and luckily for us, we get to peek inside one today! Click through to tour a green home high above Istanbul where plants and pretty furnishings rule, and preorder a copy of the book here. Enjoy! —Garrett

Fem left her job in PR to pursue her passion for plants full-time. She now owns her own shop.
Fem calls her home a living “business card,” and it houses many of her favorite green friends. Throughout the home, hundreds of plants mingle with mementos from her travels to Africa, Asia and South America.
Since the home is on the top floor, it gets great, unobstructed, natural light. Oftentimes Fem brings home plants from her shop to nourish them in the bright light of her house. Once they are flourishing, she takes them back to the shop to sell.
The doors to Fem’s plant shop Lebofam stand open to let in the sunshine. She often pairs her creations with one-of-kind ceramics by local artists. She carefully picks the pattern or style of pot to match the bud it holds.
