7 Amazing Mid-Winter Escapes

by Caitlin Kelch

In the middle of a particularly grey and cold East Coast winter, our minds have inevitably been wandering into “escape” territory. It’s so cold out that it’s hard to actually make a plan for a mid-winter break, let alone consider moving from the warmth of our little corners of the couch. So instead we decided to stay put, laptops in place, and dream of amazing winter getaways via some exotic Airbnb locations (a seashell-shaped house!). These seven home-away-from-home rentals make digging out your car and trudging through the snow seem far, far away. – Caitlin

  • I was puzzled about why these were on D*S, and then realized it was an in-line ad. FWIW, I find that format of ad frustrating, and usually start skimming sidebars to filter them out.

  • I love renting a place for vacation instead of a hotel. The seashell house and the kitchen in the Moroccan place were really quite visually stimulating. I’ve used both airbnb and vbro in the past!

  • I realize this is an ad, but a mid winter get-away in the middle of upstate New York in a yurt? Not so sure about that one…

  • Wowzers, these places look totally amazing! I had a hard time convincing my daughter some of them were real. Makes me look forward to my holiday in November even more! :)
