A One-Stop-Shop Holiday Party with Staples

by Maxwell Tielman

The invites are sent, the decorations are made, the gifts are purchased! Now that all is said and done there’s only one thing left to do. PARTY. Thanks to our buddies over at Staples, we got everything we needed to throw a pretty bangin’ celebration—garland, serving ware, table covers, and some snazzy wall decor—all using office supplies! We were even able to carry our chalkboard theme through to the end! (We’ll pat ourselves on the back later. It’s time to dig into some holiday treats!) —Max

This post was created in collaboration with Staples Copy & Print Center where you can check holiday cards, invitations and personalized gifts off your to-do list so you can sit back and enjoy the party! See the holiday collection here and design your own special greeting!

Our party snack and bar cart! We used Staples' in-house copy center to print oversized posters with holiday phrases on them—perfect for photo booth backgrounds or just some extra flair. Download the set here!

We arranged snacks and drinks on office organizers designed by Poppin. Candy canes in the Poppin silicone pen holder, candies in the Poppin "This and That" tray, and sodas in the Poppin accessory tray.

We had a beautiful seasonal arrangement made for our party by Petalos Floral.

We crafted a simple garland using white circular stickers from Avery and black and white butcher's twine. The bar cart's "chalkboard" table cover was created by cutting black presentation board to the size of the cart's surface, rubbing chalk over it and erasing for a chalk dust effect, then drawing a pine needle design on top.

  • While everything about this display is gorgeous, I love the way you made a simple dot garland. Very doable. Thanks for sharing.

  • You guys are so creative! The dot garland is so cute and unexpected coming from materials at an office supply store. I’m going to try it. I have red and white baker’s twine, so maybe white or even gold stickers?! Oh gosh I’m excited to try this.
