Entertaining Essentials from Wit & Delight

by Maxwell Tielman

One of my favorite things to do at home is entertain—have friends over, get a little boozy, maybe have a few good things to eat. Still, even though hosting parties for anything from the expected (New Year’s!) to the mundane (it’s Tuesday!) is totally my jam, I’ma be real with you—as much as I want to get all Dorothy Draper for each special occasion, sometimes I just don’t have time for that. The that in question being all of the secondary but occasionally necessary aspects of any gathering: clean tableware, fresh napkins, fancy glasses…decor! This is why I have been crushing hard on Target’s latest round of Pinterest-inspired entertaining goodies, this time from the multitalented maven behind the lifestyle blog Wit & DelightKate Arends Peters. What I love about this tiny but fabulous collection is that it pretty much covers all of your entertaining bases in a way that is remarkably affordable and versatile enough for almost any occasion. “Sophistication with a smirk” seems to be the guiding principle behind Kate’s designs. They are simple yet elegant, modern yet utterly charming. Most of all—they’re downright fun, the perfect sort of items to whip out whenever guests come calling! Check out more photos of the collection, plus Kate’s notes about her design process, after the jump! —Max
