Design*Sponge Black Book: Shelf Brackets

blackbookcover_BRACKETS
In the world of home decorating, practicality is often overlooked for something, well, decorative. But I love when form and function can come together for something as simple and beautiful as a shelf bracket. I’ve been thinking about them a lot lately as we’ve been adding DIY shelving to our apartment wherever possible. So today’s Black Book entry is all about 15 brackets that are sure to do their jobs – and look good while they do it. xo, grace

  2. emily says:

so many great choices that would look great with so many styles. really loving this series.

  3. I never thought about painting the ikea ones! SO buying some in a few weeks and pimpin’ my shelf!

  4. Abbey says:

This might be one of my favorite posts on DS – I have been wanting bracket shelves and this is great inspiration.

  5. Robert says:

Small details like shelf brackets can really have a big impact and completely change a simple shelf! Do you think bright colours would work as well? I like when white and bright colours are associated to create a Pop style!

  6. Amanda says:

Love this post! Thanks for sharing Grace. I was wondering – which shelves did you use with the IKEA brackets? Just gathering ideas for our nursery!! xo

  7. Juanita Hoover says:

Nice, but not what I am looking for. I need brackets, dowels or something that fits into predrilled holes in the sides of the bookshelves. The ones I have seen are too short. They don’t extend out far enough to hold the shelf. Can anyone help?
