Placemats + Napkins by Fort Makers

by Grace Bonney

Since it’s debut, Of a Kind has been producing some of the most interesting limited edition collaborations in the world of accessories and fashion. I’ve really enjoyed seeing them branch into the world of home goods over the past few months and their latest collection from Fort Makers is really beautiful. Using raw canvas, the team at Fort Makers created a series of six placemats that are hand-painted and accompanied by dip-dyed cotton napkins. Each set is handmade and varies slightly, but I love the vivid colors they’re using and how much joy they seem to bring to a simple tabletop. Nana and Naomi of Fort Makers have such a gorgeous painting style- it’s definitely worth checking out in more detail right here. Don’t miss their animated gif of Naomi painting, too- it’s really cool to see how one of her painted scarves comes together. xo, grace
