Danielle Kroll

by Grace Bonney

I spent last weekend enjoying summer with my family and came away missing the little things around their house. Cobalt blue cups, flip flops by the door and beach towels piled high in the closet always remind me of being back in Virginia. So when I heard from artist/designer Danielle Kroll about her latest series of paintings, I was thrilled to see the same theme emerge.

Inspired by time spent at her parents’ house, Danielle created several paintings inspired by their backyard. Travel souvenirs, backyard bamboo and swimsuits become nostalgic still lifes that capture the feeling of summer perfectly. Danielle is selling the originals right here, but you can check out her full collection online right here, too. xo, grace
