Whirlwind Jute Rug

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a dinner party at an apartment that gave new meaning to the idea of textile envy. Around every corner there was a beautiful antique rug waiting to be found and, when I peeked into the bedroom, there were layers upon layers of small kilims just hanging out like it was no big deal. I’ve clearly got a rug problem, so I’ve got an ongoing list of rugs I’d love to find a place for in my home one day. Currently being added to the list is this new jute rug at West Elm. I’m mildly obsessed with a cream/black combo these days, so this hand-braided jute and black patterned piece, done in collaboration with Santa Fe’s Museum of Indian Arts & Culture (MIAC), is right up my alley. The rug is $169 and measures 6′ in diameter- perfect for under a small dining table or in an entryway. Click here for more information and to place an on order online. xo, grace
