Our Favorite Cats at Home

Last week was all about the dogs, and I promised that Monday would be devoted to kitties. Don’t say I never did anything for you. Here are 35 kitties from the last two years of Sneak Peeks. Yes, 35 kitties and nary a cat bed in sight. Nothing but the human bed for these guys! Happy Monday! — Amy Azzarito

(If this isn’t quite enough for you, check out the first Sneak Peek: Best of Cats. And if you missed the puppies, check out: Sneak Peek: Best of Dogs, Part I and Part II.)

  1. Catherine says:

So many Kitties, so many different personalities!

  2. Sheryl says:

Thank you from the bottom of my tickled heart.

  3. JR says:

Great pics, but you really do need to check out these great photos of the cat on the bed. It slept through her decorating all around it. They are hilarious. And, no it’s not my site. http://tinyurl.com/be6ubjc

  4. Laura says:

Love these little one, a few look like my Charlie!

  5. The crazy cat lady inside me is flipping out over all of this cuteness! I realized the other day that I have more pictures of my cats than I do my friends or family… What can I say? The cats are really photogenic :)

  6. Catbed? yeah, right! hahaha. The teepee, I can see work, but it definitely always has to be a human bed- no wait- it’s even better if the human is just about to go to bed, and then steal his or her place :-)
Mind you, my cats are very good at promoting strange places to ” beds” like the washbasin , and a chair with a suit case on it .. no idea why but I am sure they have their reasons……

  7. My now dearly departed tomcat Gibson- one of the best- actually had his cat-bed in one of my sockdrawers- he was pretty secretive- and that is how he liked it.
It was great when you were hunting for socks and you opened the cupbaord a bit wider- and he would start to purr the moment he saw you.
This cupbaord obviously could never be closed as Gibson was almost always in it, hahaha

  8. liz says:

deep sigh. i miss living with my cat.

  9. Lisa says:

I love looking at all the different beautiful cats. I also love seeing so many close-ups of the beautiful linens and odd places our friends love to adopt! I´ve been kitty-free for 2 years. Someday I´ll be ready for another cat to steal the bed and get into everything.

  10. Maya says:

    Lovely kitties, thank you!

  11. I love Will Smith, but also Arlo. Will Smith reminds me of my Ada though:

  12. OMG.. They are all sooo gorgeous! Thank you for my kitty fix for the day!

  13. jenny says:

  16. Sally says:

Gorgeous kitty cat photos! Thank you so much!

  17. Tami Rebekah says:

May be my favorite post ever!!!! Rufus is the cutest :)

  18. FlagirlinTN says:

I’m a fan of your sneak peeks but find myself far more interested in all the pets names, than I am the interiors. It tells me all I need to know about the homeowner.

  19. Chelsey C. says:

I am smiling so hard right now! Makes me want to go home and cuddle with my three kitties immediately! Thank you for this.

  20. Soledad says:

Somebody please help, I’m all melted!!

  21. Merritt says:

Eeek! I love the one of Arlo in the bath tub.

It’s interesting to see the design ascetic between dog owners & cat owners. Cat owners tend to have have soft, floral spaces and dog owners tend to have bold, loud spaces in the Design*Sponge “best of” series. I’m a dog lover/owner myself, but I find that my home errs on the feline side.

Having so much fun with the family/pet theme!

  22. Melissa says:

Loving these theme posts! And I agree with Merritt – there is a ertain difference in aesthetic between cat and dog owners. How interesting!

  23. Peaches says:

Oawwww! Look at their happy faces! The misker puffs! The socks! The tails! I just want to reach through the screen and give them all the hugs they can handle. Is that too much to ask? IS IT? Gawd. How am I supposed to go back to facebook now. Talk about a aletdown. Is there a tumblr feed for images of cats + good design? Someone should get on that.

  24. Noëlle says:

    Love these photos!

  25. Hollie says:

Ohhhhmygoshhhh. I saw the dog posts and I’ve been waiting ever so impatiently for these kitty posts! My heart has completely melted <3

  26. Leanne says:

Awww. All so gorgeous and so different. Thank you !!!

  27. MB@YarnUiPhoneApp says:

Basil does seem to be a favorite cat nane. What about other herbs? Any felines named Rosemary or Thyme? Either would be cute and quaint. Foban with the yarn bow, darling, but please don’t let her eat that yarn – it’s deadly if swallowed.

  28. Alisha says:

Now this is a post I can get behind!! Love love loooove kitties! (And dogs too!)

  29. margarita says:

Ahhh I want to hug them all, gorgeous photos and cats, I should have sent a fhoto of my Missi on my bed, he is the king of the house.

  30. Basil is honored to be included! Loved this post, thank you!

  31. This post made me ridiculously happy… like maybe I have a problem, with how much I love cats.

  32. Mary says:

This is scrumptious! Such dear, sweet kitties.

  33. Jan says:

    Love these pics.

  34. Wyetha says:

I have demon-monkey-cats, these cuties look so sweet + and yes mischievous, because they all are…but you gotta love em’.

  35. Susan Farrar says:

fantastic… I have used my cats in some photos in the past on my design pages but people want to buy the cats !! lol They are not for sale even though they are very very naughty. Felix got stuck twice this wekend on a neighbours scafolding and had to be rescued …

  36. Jessica says:

  37. Pat says:

Just what I needed today, kitty joy! Thanks!

  38. Sarah says:

I know this post is old, but I hadn’t seen it before.
    Best. Post. Ever.

  39. Brandi says:

I love this post. You see so many dog posts all over the internet (I LOVE dogs too), but rarely have any devoted to our feline family members. Way to go. They are all so beautiful and unique in their own special way. Coming from a mommy of two furry kitties, thanks for showing them so much love!!

  40. Brenda says:

    Purrfectly adorable photos.
It’s lovely to see a celebration of our feline friends looking so content & serene. <3

  41. Carrie Manning says:

They are all so beautiful! I am happy to see all these lovely and happy kittens! I have two at home and they are my babies! They are both stray cats that I’ve found in the shelter and they are absolutely amazing. They make me laugh every single day. Since I have them I’ve became a bit of a cat freak and I’m often looking for funny posts with cats! Here is one that I’ve found recently – http://www.buzzfeed.com/petraaureole/13-charismatic-cats-from-movies-and-cartoons-1wpgn . They are amazing, aren’t they! Thanks so much for the post! :)

  42. georgia says:

    I’m in love.

  43. So many great spaces made cozy by furry friends. I love the insects on the wall (Adrienne Antonson of State) and the room with Koi fish on the wall (Laetitia Lazerges),OH, and the cardboard cartoon glasses collection framed on the wall.(Brin Reinhardt & Nathan Ursch.) Great elements of decor.

  44. Dre says:

    Yay! Thanks!

  45. Holland VanDieren says:

Glad the mounted goat head isn’t a goat head after all, but creating it from bunny fur (however “vintage” it is) is still pretty sickening. Enough with dead animal parts as “art” already.

This post is dedicated to loving cats. how about extending that love to other animals?
