glazed brick ends

As someone who kind of obsessively loves projects that involve bricks, these beautiful glazed brick ends at Standard Goods are an instant love. A collaboration between the artist Matt Merkel Hess and Standard Goods, each glazed firebrick bookend is one of a kind and measures about 9″w x 4.5″h x 2.75″d. This particular set sold out before I could post them, but Merkel Hess has a beautiful range of work that you can check out online here.

In addition to these pieces, Fire Clay Tile sells thin glazed bricks that come in gorgeous colors. If the styles above are sold out everywhere, a few of these would be a great option, too. Click here to check out Fire Clay Tile’s full range. xo, grace

These are fantastic and remind me of an art project I read about elsewhere on D*S, http://www.smart-urban-stage.com/blog/future-of-the-city/new-ways-of-sanctuary/ It’s nice to get a little behind-the-scenes peek at the production process.
