shop folklore

Folklore is a beautiful new independent design shop that opened in Islington, London. In an age where it can be tempting to only shop online, I love finding new shops that embrace a brick and mortar location, especially when they make it so gorgeous inside. Folklore focuses on “mindful design” for home and living, and their collection reflects the owners’ interest in careful editing. Their shop is full of beautifully designed basics that are handcrafted and will last for years to come. Whether you’re looking for hand-built tables or beautiful kitchen linens, their shop (both online and in-person) has some great options. Click here to check them out online. Thanks to Danielle for the tip! xo, grace

Sure a great addition to Upper Street. I’ve featured them on my blog and had a chat with the owner who is lovely. Will be returning to specify for clients soon – their products are beautiful

I may have to visit on my London trip this summer…..forget the Olympics :-)

I went there yesterday and it’s full of beautiful things, but it’s very expensive. I really wish they’d lower the prices.

Thanks to everyone for your lovely comments. PI – We’re glad you liked the store when you popped by! As an independent store, we work mainly with small makers and designers. Handmade goods, made well with high quality materials can often work out a little more expensive than their mass produced counterparts. That said, we make sure to stock a variety of price points starting at £5 for our linen coasters or £5 for our recycled glass tumblers. Our range of Iris Hantverk brushes start at £12 and will last a lifetime if you look after them! Thanks again for the feedback and all the comments, we really appreciate it :)
