Everyone is going on and on about Pantone’s “Tangerine Tango” color predictions for this year. Apparently, it’s going to be all the rage. But bright orange has always been a favorite of mine (it inspired the D*S book cover), and I’m happy to have another excuse to embrace it in a big way. One of my favorite examples? This “Sheffield” wallpaper from Thibaut’s Sweet Life collection. The little blue boxes look so sweet against that electric pop of orange; it would look fantastic in a powder room or dressing room. I don’t have either of those in my home, but I can definitely see using this to wallpaper the inside of a closet. It has a certain “ladies room” quality that I love. *Imagine the shot above without all the frou frou accessories on the tabletop. The paper feels a lot cooler and more modern when it’s not pushed in a fancy-pants direction.

Agree the vases and lamps make it a little over styled but I love the orange. Redoing a book case now with orange accents. This would be a perfect background to the shelving.
Love the tangerine too! This would look great as an accent to raised doors going into a closet or pantry as well in a traditional home. Or even in a frame, if you can’t afford all the blue and white porcelain pieces, then just to have a large piece in a frame would be beautiful.
Always been a fan of orange… yay tangerine tango! Now I’m not the only one :)
This is the kind of wallpaper that had I seen it on a rack I would have immediately dismissed. And have missed out on such a beautiful print! I’m so impressed when someone has such a great eye for a specific look. And this room nails it!
I don’t actually mind the “fancy” stuff, but the ricrac trim on those lamps is almost unforgivably horrible… nice paper though.
Normally, I would think that matching the vases to the wallpaper would be too much -but it really works here. Love the wallpaper colors and the whimsical styling!! It’s a lot of fun mixed with great style!
Orange and Blue are amazing together. I’m in love with all of those vases!
I’m in the minority–I clicked through because I loved the styling of the ceramics AND the rickrack. I kind of love rickrack. Have I said too much?
Orange has already been big in 2011 in the UK – I got a nice polyresin orange truck from Areaware – even nicer in white.
I thought blue was the new buzz colour for interiors and people are trying to push bright and lemon yellow over here.
