We’ve had lighting on the brain lately. Our new Design*Sponge office came with huge fluorescent hanging lamps that we avoid turning on at all costs. So Kate, Grace and I have been hunting for something cool and functional. While I don’t know if these pendants will cast as much light as we need, they certainly get high marks on the cool front. These “Holes” fixtures were designed by Studio Bertjan Pot for the collection of Arturo Alvarez. Inspired by kites and mathematics, Holes is made out of 20 triangles, 30 bars and a series of connectors and holes. For pricing and order information, it looks like you need to email Arturo Alvarez. (I’ve been wanting to do a pinprick lampshade, so this one might go in the DIY inspiration file for me.) Click here to check out these fixtures in more detail. — Amy Azzarito

So pretty! I would love to see how they look at night.
It’s looks like the less attractive little brother of the DWR Etch Pendant…
