Kate and I were talking about beautiful geological patterns last Friday when I remembered the gorgeous paintings of Clare Grill. Clare draws much inspiration from geological cross-sections and color palettes, and I had to check in and see what she’s been up to. Of course, she’s been busy creating beautiful new paintings. I wanted to share a few of my favorites here, but you can view more of her stunning work right here. It’s the perfection combination of bold color and natural inspiration. xo, grace

I love the bold yet muted colors. They compliment each other so well. Makes me want to curl up on a near by chair and grab a good book!
These paintings remind of the work of Leslie Wayne, which I saw in the Fall of 2011 at the University of Hartford’s art gallery — also very geological and interesting views of nature: http://www.joseloffgallery.org/photos/traveling-exhibitions/leslie-wayne-recent-work/
The mountains and clouds paintings. They’re amazing. Especially combined.
She’s one of my favorite painters! Thanks for sharing her new work. I especially love the whimsical cloud painting.
She is incredible! I love each painting more than the last!
These are gorgeous! As a geologist by trade (though no longer on that path), I’m especially a fan. Awesome!
I am totally swooning over that first piece. L O V E.
