galinanova

Galinanova is a fantastic new project from designer Carolina Melis. For the past few years, Carolina has been collaborating with artisans from Sardinia, primarily from the villages of Ulassai and Nule, to create beautiful weavings. Sardinia has a strong tradition of weaving with both vertical and horizontal looms, so Carolina worked with local artists to create these gorgeous pieces using local Sardinian wool. Textiles like this add so much warmth and character to a home, and I hope I’m able to invest in pieces like this when I’m a bit older. If you’re looking to invest in something beautiful and handmade now, click here to contact Carolina about purchasing or for more info on the collection. xo, grace

I love this! My grandfather is from Sardinia and I’ve always been so inspired by the textiles, art, and food coming from the island. If anyone is interested in learning more about the culture, I started a pin board of art and landscapes inspired by Sardinia and it’s talented natives. The street murals are particularly inspiring to me. http://pinterest.com/studiodanae/sardinia/
