marimekko summer 2012

Seeing a summer collection right now feels like a cruel joke as I pack multiple winter layers for this week’s trip. But it’s had to resist when the colors are this bright and saturated. Marimekko debuted their Summer 2012 collection in NYC last week, and I was excited to check out some photos of the new series. I love how playful the collection feels. From glasses inspired by rolled-down socks to squiggly pillows that feel like they were ripped from my favorite cartoons, Marimekko’s summer offerings are super saturated and scream summer. These products won’t be available for sale until 2012, but if you need a little dose of warm color in these chillier temperatures, this might help. xo, grace

  1. The summer seems a very long way away at the moment, but these designs are gorgeous!! Love the blue rug, it would be like having a lovely warm sea indoors!

  2. These colors and patterns are so rich and beautiful! I’m nowhere near thinking of summer right now but this will give us something to look forward to once the holiday hangover hits us all in January!

I agree — almost strange to see these colors right now, but nonetheless, beautiful!

Oh I love Marimekko.. I wish these were available now – they would be great at staving off the winter blues…

  6. This peek makes me happy. Even heading into Fall & Winter, with it being dark by 5:15 now, it’s lovely to see what light is ahead with Marimekko! Love, love love.

Always delightful, Marimekko is a personal favorite. I’ll just have to “hold onto my bootstraps” til next summer!
