chisel & mouse architectural models

by Grace Bonney

One of the things I remember most about growing up was my dad’s love of architecture. His yellow legal pads were dotted with architectural doodles that were equal parts fanciful and structural. He used to collect architectural models of all types (wood, clay, paper), and I have fond memories of home any time I see a model of a European building in a shop. These models, created by a UK-based studio called Chisel & Mouse, focus on art deco buildings around London. Each piece is made from plaster with metal-etched details and would make for a beautiful stand-alone sculpture or bookend. If you have an architecture lover in your family, these may be just the ticket for this year’s holiday gift. xo, grace
