2011 gift guides: ornaments + trimming

After yesterday’s post on no-buy gift ideas, I thought it would be nice to ease into the season with a little decoration. I love holiday decorations more than gifts sometimes, so I decided to focus today’s roundup on ornaments and trimming (I’m looking for some modern Judaica today, so stay tuned for that). I got a little crazy last night and found close to 100 options, ranging from vintage-inspired glass ornaments to every type of floral and fauna imaginable. Whether you’re looking for something a little retro and quirky or something more sophisticated and glittery, I’ve got you covered with this guide. I’ve grouped things according to theme (including my “put a bird on it” indulgence below), so I hope you’ll be able to find something to suit your style. Happy Holidays! xo, grace

Lovely! Great work! Decorating is by far my favorite part about the Holiday season. My favorite is the Joy ornament from etsy! Also, just an fyi two of the pics don’t have the links under them: the pictures with most of the mercury glass ornaments.

holy cow! nice round up. I look at that and can only imagine the number of sites you had to visit to do that. Yikes!

I love holiday decorations. Ornaments are my favorite. I enjoyed the animal ornament round up with the fox, snail, etc. I also liked the owl and bird ornaments. And the seal ornament is too cute.

A tree full of woodland animals! What an amazing idea! Or just pinecones and acorns (maybe 1 squirrel!) I want to do this one year soon!

Fabulous! As always your post is absolutely beautiful.
Love all those ornaments, they would make a fabulous tree.
Warm hugs from Brasil.

I love the spoons. Can’t wait to sit in bed tonight and order my hostess gifts! Thanks for doing the research for me. For those who feel like taking a ride up to historic Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow check out the rooms of holiday ornaments and gifts at Pretty Funny Vintage.

what a lovely roundup! I’m in love with these, especially the lemonwood ornament and the one that looks like a smoking pipe. They have a great playful beauty to them. Thank you!

What a fantastic array. It would make a great poster–just all these hundreds of ornaments! Or great gift wrap, too. I can’t even imagine all the work that went into assembling and researching so many ornaments for this post. I feel cheerful and inspired after looking at this great combo of ornaments both beautiful and whimsical.

Wow, I really need to convince my mother that we need a whole tree full of those georgous whales.

ornaments are one of my favorite parts of christmas .. and all of these are amazing! especially the foxes!

I loooove these! Grace, I’d be so excited if you did a tree-topper guide too! I’ve been scouring the internet for an awesome/simple/magical way to top off our tree and its so far been not-so inspiring. Or a a sweet DIY tree-star idea… fingers crossed…
