Speaking of warm, I have a soft spot for any pattern that vaguely reminds me of plaid. No matter what the color is, a checked pattern of any sort makes me feel comforted and toasty. These new ceramic pieces are the result of a collaboration between Danish designers Miss Dotty and Anne Black. Their Ruth M collection was inspired by old Danish wallpaper designs and antique English fishplates. I love the blue-gray colors and pale browns in the series — they make pieces like the larger tiles feel both classic and modern. Anne is debuting her latest work in NYC next week, but sadly, I’ll be out of town, so I wanted to share a little preview here. You can view all of Anne’s work right here (and shop online). Thanks to Tina for the tip! xo, grace

What a neat take on a older print
This is the perfect combination of antique china patterns and modern plaid…so lovely!
Oh my, i love plaid too!
Gorgeous!
I love these designs, they remind me of vintage transfer ware but an updated new version.
Hi Grace, you can also find many of Anne Black’s wonderful pieces Stateside at Huset. We’re especially enamored with the Bird Platter under the Ruth M series.
These are pretty. They remind me of a fancy, fragile picnic setting!
