Typically, I prefer vases and flower vessels with wider mouths (they make arranging easier), but I’m really drawn to these elegant sloped vessels from Japanese designer Yukihiro Kaneuchi. Inspired by the game “Bou-Toshi” (which reminds me of pick-up sticks, but with sand as the base), these vessels are made from sand and resin and convey the feeling of slipping sand perfectly. The simple vase inside the sand-and-resin form is perfect for dramatic flowers and everyday wildflowers — the shape elevates whatever is inside to make it feel like sculpture. What a neat and earthy vase!
they reminds me of moon snail egg casings. so unusual and pretty!
So simple, yet so stylish. I like ‘em.
Love these… They evoke a feeling of peace and yet send me back to the seaside as a little one, playing with sand and form. Thanks for sharing this beautiful find.
