fifty one and a half

by Grace Bonney

Nothing warms my heart quite like hearing about parent/child design duos. This beautiful new ceramic line and online prop store, Fifty One and a Half, is the product of Monika Dalkin and her daughter. After working in clay for over 15 years, Monika decided to start a new company that would focus on creating the sort of unique serving pieces that photographers and food stylists use for shoots.

Monika makes each of these pieces by hand and hopes they’ll find a good home, either at your own personal dinner table or a photo studio. I love pieces with texture like this; they really add another dimension to the table. You can check out Monika’s full collection online right here. High five to Matt Armendariz for these beautiful product photos. xo, grace
