powder & smoke candles

What does a Golden Nugget smell like? I’m not sure, but I’m willing to find out if it comes in a package this cute. These candles from Powder & Smoke come in scents like Aquamarine and Rose Geranium and arrive in pots that look like dripping paint cans. After the candles run out (they’ll last for 50 hours), they’d make pretty adorable flower pots/vases, too. Click here to pick one up for $14 each at Leif. xo, grace

Hi Grace, I agree with you. I think this is the first on its kind to have a very unique packaging. That actually is a good marketing strategy, isn’t it?

I was incredibly disappointed with the scent throw of these candles. Being a HUGE DL & Co. fan, I was excited to purchase three of these candles. The scents were nice but extremely faint compared to other DL & Co. candles – but granted, the price point on these is lower as well. I’d save my money for a candle from the Modern Alchemy line.

Those are adorable! Although they certainly took a risk there, making their package resemble paint cans because now I’m picturing myself destroying the lid with a screwdriver, ruining the candle, breaking my screwdriver, spilling imaginary paint everywhere, yelling at the cat, and it all goes downhill from there…

I love your take on this. We debuted candles at our shop with names of crooners and chanteuses. We drafted descriptive copy rooted in experience, rather than scen. People absolutely balked. “But what does it smell like?”

Well, let’s just say that I HAD to buy the Golden Nugget and Rose Geranium because they are so stinkin cute! Apparently there was just one Golden Nugget left. We’re moving into a new house and am looking for different accessories. Can’t wait for them to arrive.

I spotted these recently at my local HomeGoods. Cute packages but the scents were all a little off…
