One of my favorite things to do in life is travel. Whether it’s across town or across the country, I relish the chance to see another area and get to know what makes each city special. We’ve got a huge travel schedule coming up this fall for the D*S Book Tour (dates coming soon!) so I always love finding cute luggage & travel accessories and must-haves for the road. When Amy, Kate and I were at Brimfield last week we noticed a huge selection of vintage and antique luggage for sale and, had it not been for their relatively high price tags, I would have taken a few of these home with me. Amy uses a stack of vintage suitcases as a side table in her home and I’ve always wanted to replicate that look. So I thought I’d kick off this morning with 15 beautiful suitcases (including a set with its own removable jacket!) from Brimfield. Stay tuned for more Brimfield coverage including the rattan trend, beautiful industrial pieces and much more. xo, grace
Top image and image above: This amazing antique luggage set has an outer leather jacket that comes off to reveal hard case luggage below. Sadly the Ralph Lauren POLO people snagged this before anyone else could. Argh!
Image above: I fell hard for this faded blue, spacey-print luggage from the Jersey Ice Cream Co. booth. I love the drawers.
Image above: This piece was one of my favorites from the show: an antique dog carrier. The wood veneer was so elegant and classy. I can only imagine how badly my cats would shred this sucker from the inside.

Image above: I’m not normally a label girl, but this vintage Vuitton luggage was just spectacular. I think I actually prefer their classic pattern worn in with a bit of age and dirt thrown on top.
Images above: These last two images are of a case from one of the oldest French luggage makers in the world. That oxblood red leather interior pocket was so stunning in person. Two bad they cost as much as a European vacation itself.
