Hi guys! I wanted to take a quick time-out to do a little update about the places you can find D*S (and more design/event tips) outside of the main blog. I try not to crowd D*S with a million posts a day, so I’ve been using social networking outlets more and more to give last-minute updates on great openings, new websites and cool events happening across the country. And, if you’re using any of those main outlets, you can find me there on a daily basis with updates you won’t see on the main site. Here’s a quick rundown in case you’d like to get some extra info throughout the day (and weekends):

Facebook: We’re using Facebook to post all of the images that didn’t make it into the Sneak Peeks plus a few extra special photo collections. If you “Like” us on Facebook, you’ll get notified when we’ve posted a new Facebook only photo album. For example, today I created an album with 45 of my favorite uses of “spots and polka dots” in Home Tours, so if you have a dot-obsession like I do, you can check out the roundup (with links to the full home tours) right here.

Foursquare: We’re also hanging out on foursquare and having a lot of fun with it. We have a D*S account there where we’re posting tips from the city guides and our favorites from our own neighborhoods. Right now, we have more than 100 tips for Manhattan and Brooklyn (and we’ll be adding other cities soon). If you’ve ever wanted to use D*S city guides while you’re out and about, foursquare helps us function in the same way. Just “follow” the D*S foursquare account, then when you’re out and you check into a place that we have a tip for (We hope to have thousands up across the country soon!) our tip will pop up. But even more than collecting tips, if you see us checked in somewhere, please say hello! I’m often out by myself browsing in a shop and it’s always nice to meet someone new.

Twitter: Twitter is still my social networking homebase. It’s easy to update and I’m constantly posting throughout the day with news, links to products and sites, clothes and accessories I’m loving and links to Kickstarter funds I think deserve a little support from the arts community. If you’re online, you can find me here most days (and weekends) adding little odds and ends around the web.

*You can receive D*S post updates on both Twitter and Facebook if you prefer to follow websites that way, rather than the main website. We’ll have Facebook “like” links and Twitter “retweet” buttons up on the site in May when the major redesign launches.
