cute and tasty: pantone chip cookies

Well hello, Awesome. I couldn’t think of a better way to start today than with these seriously amazing Pantone Chip Cookies from Kim Neill. Kim is a freelance designer and illustrator and she created these fabulous Pantone cookies using her collection of Pantone chips. Inspired by this fun Pantone tin ($28), Kim worked with Royal icing to create the exact colors and even broke out her luster dust to create metallic “chip” cookies. Once the icing set, she used an edible marker to add the Pantone numbers and voila! The perfect treat for an art opening, birthday party or even a child’s art class. Click here to check out Kim’s post and replicate the look yourself. Thanks to Nikko for the tip! xo, grace

Kristy (I design love)

Those cookies are fabulous! How awesome, I think I will make those for my next part :)

This idea is totally delicious! I am a huge fan of anything pantone, I just love how much you see these cute little chips popping up in designs everywhere, from notepads to coffee mugs. Maybe we need a Pantone round up. That would be fun. :-)

I can´t imagine anything better than having a pantone cookie while drinking coffee out of my pantone cup…:))

Oh this is beyond adorable!!! I of course want to do this myself. With a publication design background, this is the kind of stuff I live for :)

As a graphic designer (but not a baker) I would buy these in a heart beat!!! Please make more and sell them to meeeee :D thank you.

This is sooo cool! I used to work in the apparel industry with fabrics and colors and pantone chips, so I love, love, love, this! :)

Well done, Kim! We may need to be BFFs because I had this EXACT idea. I truly thought I was dreaming when I saw the post this morning. Off to buy my tins today: Yellow 14-8048. Love it when cookies & design merge (or cookies & anything).

Ballet Flats

that is just about the coolest thing I think I’ve ever seen! I’m so making them for my next ‘design’ gathering!

Those look wonderful – definitely something different for a sugar cookie. Would love to try them in a range of toning shades – blues and purples, say. They’re such a great mix of modern and cheery!

> I’m not very fond of the Pantone craze

Um… I missed this I guess. There’s a “Pantone craze”? I just thought it was subcultural. If you are a designer of any sort, you have one or another pantone book about.

I have a half dozen swatchbooks, some going back to the late 80s. It’s how the world works with color.

Hello,
These are extremely creative and so much fun to look at (the tin too). As an artist I appreciate the creativity that went into these….. (:

Sandy Joe

This reminds me so much of colour theory and slaving over pantone chips to make the right shade and hue. This has turned my school misery into something so charming. How delightful.

YUM! Pantone chip cookies – what a Delicious way to show your LOVE for colors & Design — and also make sure everyone who attends your party knows they are unique & special to you!
