Well hello, Awesome. I couldn’t think of a better way to start today than with these seriously amazing Pantone Chip Cookies from Kim Neill. Kim is a freelance designer and illustrator and she created these fabulous Pantone cookies using her collection of Pantone chips. Inspired by this fun Pantone tin ($28), Kim worked with Royal icing to create the exact colors and even broke out her luster dust to create metallic “chip” cookies. Once the icing set, she used an edible marker to add the Pantone numbers and voila! The perfect treat for an art opening, birthday party or even a child’s art class. Click here to check out Kim’s post and replicate the look yourself. Thanks to Nikko for the tip! xo, grace

So fab! Would love a tin of this year’s color of the year, honeysuckle!
This idea is totally delicious! I am a huge fan of anything pantone, I just love how much you see these cute little chips popping up in designs everywhere, from notepads to coffee mugs. Maybe we need a Pantone round up. That would be fun. :-)

I can´t imagine anything better than having a pantone cookie while drinking coffee out of my pantone cup…:))
Oh this is beyond adorable!!! I of course want to do this myself. With a publication design background, this is the kind of stuff I live for :)
Love this idea. I am totally going to make these next time I have a party.
As a graphic designer (but not a baker) I would buy these in a heart beat!!! Please make more and sell them to meeeee :D thank you.

Oh, so adorable! Now if only they were vegan LOL…
This is sooo cool! I used to work in the apparel industry with fabrics and colors and pantone chips, so I love, love, love, this! :)
I’m afraid if I put these out at an art opening, they would get the most attention! Love it!
Well done, Kim! We may need to be BFFs because I had this EXACT idea. I truly thought I was dreaming when I saw the post this morning. Off to buy my tins today: Yellow 14-8048. Love it when cookies & design merge (or cookies & anything).
Haha! What a great idea!
So cool! This post made my day!!
Pantone Chip! -even better than Chocolate Chip :)
my boyfriend has a painting company and this would be SUCH a cute idea! LOVE IT.

Pantone has really been popular this year, this is a great way to incorporate it into parties, openings, etc. Very fun!
Faboulous Faboulus! I have to post this on my blog.

These cookies are fabulous! My mom used to make cookies that looked like dot candy. She never thought about this… nice work!

Impressive work, especially becausse the colors of royal icing darken and change upon drying! Wow.

Why didnt I think of that? Love it!
Wow… those are the cutest cookies I have ever seen! I am gonna have to remember that one.
Love these! Seems so obvious but hadn’t thought to do this – Going to make some Honeysuckle Pink for a baby shower!
Those look wonderful – definitely something different for a sugar cookie. Would love to try them in a range of toning shades – blues and purples, say. They’re such a great mix of modern and cheery!
> I’m not very fond of the Pantone craze
Um… I missed this I guess. There’s a “Pantone craze”? I just thought it was subcultural. If you are a designer of any sort, you have one or another pantone book about.
I have a half dozen swatchbooks, some going back to the late 80s. It’s how the world works with color.
Hello,
These are extremely creative and so much fun to look at (the tin too). As an artist I appreciate the creativity that went into these….. (:
You totally made my day. Thanks for the inspiration. These are RAD.
This reminds me so much of colour theory and slaving over pantone chips to make the right shade and hue. This has turned my school misery into something so charming. How delightful.
If anyone is in NewYork on Feb 16, 2011, stop by the McNeill Art Gallery for a unique opportunity to EAT one of these cookies! My cookies have been invited to be part of Chromesthesia, a unique group exhibition focusing on color and its effect on the senses. YUM! Pantone chip cookies – what a Delicious way to show your LOVE for colors & Design — and also make sure everyone who attends your party knows they are unique & special to you!
