morning (minimal) eye candy: john + juli’s house

After yesterday’s roundup of beautiful white living rooms, I’m in the mood for something minimalist. These pictures from John and Juli of Mjolk’s home are perfect. I’ve never been able to pull off the clean and modern “all white” look, but these two do it like pros. HGTV.ca has the full story right here, so if you’re looking for more minimal inspiration this morning, I recommend checking it out. (Their wooden storage unit alone is worth the click — it’s gorgeous!) xo, grace

i think dieter rams’ philosophy is a good one to carry throughout life in all aspects, not just design (though I love a good minimal home and this one is beautiful!)

Love the blanket, the bird, the shelving unit, the stools… gorgeous! Wish I could see more of the art in the bedroom, it also looks beautiful!

Andrea

I adore the German quote on the wall. An important message in the age of McMansions!

Kim

Beautiful space; so peaceful. I ADORE the art pieces in the bedroom & living room. Where are they from? I would love to know.

Cindi

I usually love all white spaces, especially with splashes of color and/or great paintings…..
sorry but this just leaves me cold. to me, there’s no personality or soul to the space, it’s just bland…
and then there’s that dead dog or wolf on the bedroom floor…..
I guess we can’t all love every space! sorry

paola

great home! thanks for sharing!
who can tell me where I can find the lamp under the side table????

melissa

the space is insanely beautiful, but $850 for a blanket? dang.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments!

The art pictured is by Toronto photographer Joshua Jensen-Nagle.

breeree – the teak wall unit is actually in our living room. In the office opposite the desk is a Swedish String wall unit (not pictured).

Cindi – The hide on the floor is reindeer from Finland. Hides aren’t for everyone, I know, however the Finnish people herd and eat reindeer.

Paola and Lise – The lamp near the bed is a Le Klint lamp from Denmark.
