Hi guys! I’m excited to announce that we’re looking for a new member to join our Design*Sponge ad team. Our ad team is a tight-knit family that consists of AC, Felice and, until recently, AC’s sister, Leslie. Leslie got an exciting new job in her dream field so now we’re looking to find a new team member. I think our families will probably enjoy having a little less D*S talk around the holiday dinner table this year ;)
We’ve always enjoyed keeping things small and personal, so our focus is finding someone who shares our dedication to not just running an ad program, but really advising and educating our advertisers to help them get the most out of their advertising experience. Our Ad Sales Coordinator will be directly involved in booking ads, working with small business owners and helping us facilitate the day-to-day needs of serving ads on Design*Sponge.
Here are the details:
- Position: Ad Sales Coordinator for the Design*Sponge Ad Team
- Time Required: Estimated 2–3 hours per day
- Payment: Hourly
- Location: Virtual (Must be based in the US)
Job Description
- Coordinate ad sales process (trafficking ads, processing payments, fielding questions and customer service)
- Manage the trafficking and uploading of ads
- Other tasks may include: research, outreach, writing posts for the D*S Advertising Blog and additional projects based on your area of interest or expertise
Skills Required:
- Must be familiar with Gmail, Excel and PayPal.
- Familiarity with advertising technology such as DoubleClick is a plus, as well as PowerPoint and Google Analytics.
We’re looking for someone interested in learning more about online advertising and familiar with the independent design market that Design*Sponge serves. The Ad Sales Coordinator should be obsessively organized, detail-oriented and passionately committed to providing outstanding customer service. Experience in online advertising is a plus, and anyone with experience will be given special consideration, however it is not required for this job.

One more question,
Does the position offer flexibility of time? I currently hold a 40 hrs a week job, but would love an opportunity like this on the side. However, that flexibility would happen *after* my current 9-5-er job. Just wondering!

The job does offer some flexibility of time. We have had other people work this job while holding full-time jobs (it’s not easy, but it’s doable). We’d need to work out the specifics of your availability, but it shouldn’t prohibit you from applying.
