One of the best things about working on Design*Sponge is getting to meet people early in their careers and then watching them go through milestones online. I’ve enjoyed seeing some of my favorite artists start their businesses, fall in love, get married and have children. Today I’m thrilled to present a sneak peek at the wedding of two people whose home we featured last year, Catherine and Erik Nordstrom! When we first met Catherine and Erik, they were newly engaged and now their story has come full circle — their wedding photographer Tec Petaja shared their wedding photos with us because Catherine and Erik found him through D*S! The couple was married in France and I’m so grateful that Tec sent these along (I love ending the week on a happy note). Their wedding is the perfect mix of minimal details and a spectacular location. Congrats to Catherine + Erik from everyone at D*S — we wish you the very best!

I’m off to finish some last-minute D*S Book edits this weekend and then it’s back to preparing some fun font-themed content for next week. Stay tuned for a font contest and much more! xo, grace
*P.S. Click here to peek inside Tec and his wife Chelsea’s beautiful home.

I love Catherine’s beautiful fabric hair flowers

This door color is perfection. It makes me want to paint my apartment door blue to hold on to some of that summer color.

I am now annoyed at how perfect this wedding and this couple are; how is that much pretty that possible?

Her dress has sleeves!!! You don’t know how happy I am to see a wedding dress with sleeves. They are so rare these days. simple, elegant, beautiful.

This is a gorgeous wedding and the photography is amazing! Love everything about this celebration!
Wow! Gorgeous wedding pictures. And the dress is lovely.
Sometimes I think the weddings on blogs these days can be kind of overdone… but this one has a casual simplicity that I love. And who wouldn’t love to get married in a location like that! Also – I agree about the dress. Love it and the fact that it has sleeves.
Crazy beautiful!
Anyone know where to get a planter box like the blue one with the topiaries?
Hey girls! This is the bride speaking :) I thought I’d tell you about the dress since some of you asked. I designed the dress myself and had a really amazing seamstress make it! I had an idea, made her a moodboard and a drawing and we
started from there. Highly recommended as it is way more affordable than buying one! If you have more questions about the dress feel free to email me, Grace has my address :) Oh, and thanks for all the sweet comments. It was the best day ever!!
I must know where that dress is from!! Can anyone help me find it??

Amazing! What a beautiful life. I love the flowers in the top picture, so pretty.
I LOVE her dress. Good god where is it from. Perfection.
SO . . . did anyone notice the last name? I believe that is one of the Nordstrom brothers of the department store . . . and possibly I know this information from previously working there, but it may explain how a wedding can be so absolutely gorgeous . . . a bottomless budget maybe?
THE DRESS WHERE IS IT FROM !
Wow, utterly beautiful. The dress is so different and so beautiful!!! I loved the bridesmaid dresses as well…
This is such a beautiful wedding!!!
I hope the happy couple will have a future to cherish…
was this in Marseille? If so what was the location.

Hello ladies, this is the bride writing. I tried to write yesterday regarding the dress but it didn’t show so I’ll give it another try. I designed the dress myself and had a really amazing seamstress
make it! I had an idea, made her a moodboard and a drawing and we started from there. I highly recommend it as it’s fun and also way cheaper than buying retail. Thanks for all the sweet comments, it was the best day ever! Love from the very Swedish non famous Nordstroms :)
Could you please tell me where you found this dress??? I’m getting married in 2 months and have yet to find anything I like, but I LOVE this one!!

Hello, i am getting married in France in September this year, i am french, and i fell completely in love with the dress of Cathy here on the photos !She said in one of her comments that we could eventually join her about this topic,as she disigned it heerself, so i was wondering if you could give me her email adress. I am planning to make my dress by a seamstress as well and the dress of cathy is even more beautiful that what i had ever imagined. Thank you for your kind help,
Kind Regards
Cécile
Hi D*S, sorry to be the one of many to absolutely love this dress and ask if i could have Cathy’s email address. I am having one of my girlfriends create something almost like this, so it was awesome to come across this blog and see a creation i had in mind which looked amazing on Cathy. one part i am having a hard time finding is the lace. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi DS, I’d like to echo what the last commenter said and ask if you would please send me Catherine’s email address? I am interested in learning if she could recommend the seamstress she used. Any help you can give would be much appreciated!
lara
i’m afraid she’s asked that we not give it out anymore, sorry :(
grace
Thanks for replying, Grace- I guess I can understand due to the popularity! Love D*S, btw. :)
