If there’s one thing I respond to in a home, it’s color. A well chosen fabric or wall color can make all the difference in the world. So color charts have always been near and dear to me. In college I collected color chart books that I used while struggling through watercolor class. But man, I didn’t have any as gorgeous as these antique charts. While preparing for a post on Jacob Krupnick and Youngna‘s wedding invitations (coming up in a few!), I noticed a link on Jacob’s site to these amazing color charts featured on Imprint. These beautiful charts track colors in a variety of ways and seem beautiful enough to serve as artwork themselves. Click here to see more beautiful images and information at Imprint. xo, grace

These are so special. It’s a terrible thing I saw these so early in the morning because the search for them is going to really hinder my productivity at work today!

I made one of these (not so fancy) in college and it is one of my favorite “art-pieces” we made. Fashionable and functional.

As an elementary art teacher, I consider this post to be pretty incredible. I’d love to show my kids these incredible color wheel posters.
Linked to you. I simply couldn’t help sharing these beautiful images!
Hi,
I agree with the other comments. Do you know if it’s possible to purchase posters of these? Thanks
These are stunning. I’ll third (or fourth?) the request to know where we can buy these. I’d love to have one hanging in my office for inspiration!
Absolutely smitten!
I’m actually in the process of a web redesign based on the first pic. I’ve had it in my inspiration file for a few months. Thank you so much for the post & the additional photos :)
These colour charts are amazing. I really love the calligraphy type used, you can truly see how old they are. I love the detail of the lines in the first colour wheel illustration.
these are unbelievable! i wish i took this much time on color wheels and such when i was in art school! thank you for sharing!
warmest regards,

Hi folks! I wrote the color-wheels post on Imprint. I’m dee-lighted that all of you had as much reading this as I had writing it.
If you missed part 2 of this series, check out here: http://imprint.printmag.com/color/wonderful-color-wheel-part-2/ We’re planning a part 3 post in the coming weeks, too, that’ll bring this history up to the present.
In answer to the many folks who wondered where you can buy posters of these images, I don’t know of any vendor right now providing that. However, smelling opportunity, I’ve floated the idea of posters based on these images as a product in Print’s MyDesignShop. Clearly, there’s demand out there, and we’d be glad to fill it if we can! Will report back here if and when there’s progress on that front.
Thanks again,
Jude

i would also be **very** interested in having a reproduction print too! and if it were on textured (not glossy) paper, that would be even better!!!!
wow those color charts are really cool
Gosh, I just finished teaching my high schoolers about color. What a thrill it would be to have a poster of one of these up on our wall!
What a lovely set of images. The colours are so gorgeous and dreamy. Thanks for sharing!
Nice post|Good post. I find out something more challenging on different sites every single day. It’ll always be stimulating to learn articles coming from other writers and practice something from their store. I’d plan to use some using the content on my website whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll offer you a link on your web blog. Thank you for sharing.
