gemini grace: feeling girly

i’m a gemini through and through and frequently blame my astrological sign for my complete inability to choose one personal style. i’m always going back and forth between something light-hearted and girly and something darker and more “serious” (which is relative when it comes to my style), so this morning i thought i’d do two roundups: one for my light side and one for my “dark” side. i’m kicking things off with the cheerful girly roundup because, well, who doesn’t love a little color in the morning?

[image above, clockwise from top left: colorful opinel knife set $68 (makes for a colorful cheese plate!), studded suede mini bag $29.99 (i just bought this and LOVE it), barbie wall calendar $13.99 (i'm not normally a barbie girl but i love these old-fashioned fashion illustrations), striped studio patro tea towels $22 each (i am a stripe FANATIC), white dot tumbler $19.99 for 8 (i bought these in stripes and dots and they're perfect!), russian tulips necklace $98, recycled pine wood console $899 (i'm imagining this piled with color-coordinated design books), arched table lamp $585, chrome tufted chair $1400, striped fabric tape $7 each (i just bought these for d*s craft projects!)]

As a fellow Gemini I know exactly what you mean if I was Rich I would have 2 Houses to show both sides of my Nature the frivolous and Girly Side and the Austere Grownup side, by the way love the Pink Chair.

i hear ya. people always ask me what my dream house would be and i always have to say, “houseS”. i need a colorful fun modern home and something more country, laid back and loose.

I guess the biggest challenge is knowing how to create a balance of both styles in one space. It’s such a task balancing my love of mod, minimalism, and black & white with my other love of bling, bold color and ostentation (in a chic way of course). Sometimes I want bright & bold fuchsia, and sometimes just a clean grey will work. Tis life :)

SUCH great picks….love that bag & that gorgeous necklace….love also that the mix is high end and lower priced pieces. Can’t wait to see the “dark” side! :)

I blame my being a Gemini for that too. One half of me loves the girly girl stuff, the other loves modern and clean.

Makes being a designer interesting!

Love everything above…bar the Barbie pink chair…I’m more of a Magenta girl myself ;)

I’m Aries and have the same struggle but usually make fast choices and end up with EV’rything.
Love your choices for design but have to wonder about function on a lamp of that price that uses a mere 25 watt max bulb!

I struggle in a similar way in terms of design. I love bits of everything it seems! Anyhow love this girly round up!

Torrie @ a place to share...

love the tape, the barbie calendar (since Toy Story 3, my daughter has become a huge Barbie fan!), and the tumblers (thankfully I just purchased new tumblers- so I don’t have an excuse to go out and buy more… but that price!! hmmm…:).

Oh wow!

Thank you so much for including the necklace I designed for Terrain!!!

I’ve got goosebumps seeing it here!

that pink chair is fantastic! Wow, I already started thinking about where I might but this– I need to be a gemini too…. with a better “frugal” side!

These are such well edited choices. Just girly enough not to be over the top…or so says my insanely girly Capricorn self. Is that an oxymoron…?

Oh, I might have to make trip to our local Target for those polka dot glasses. So cute!
