i don’t think there’s ever been a room, floor, or house that jessica helgerson designed that i didn’t like. her work is always exciting, beautiful, and unexpected. so i could think of no better way to head off for the weekend, than with these images of a new attic bedroom that jessica just completed. part of the amazing portland four-square home we ran last year, this newly finished attic looks like the perfect place to chill out with a good summer book on a rainy day. i love all the light, the dramatic white chandelier, and all the different directions in which the wood runs. it’s like the perfect chic cabin retreat. click here to see the rest of the home, and here to check out more of jessica’s work. I’m not usually one for naked wood walls, but that attic is stunning! I think it’s all that white that balances it out.
LOVE THIS!
How gorgeous!
It is so beautiful!
ahhh i would hope for rainy days with a room like that. and that skylighty window? perfect
this is a gorgeous room.. love all the natural light coming in..
MUST know where to find chandelier! Please get details!
how magical! i want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anybody know where i can get the bean bags?
Gorgeous! So light, but cozy and a little rustic, too. Those beanbags are looking pretty inviting right about now.
does anyone know where the rug in the attic is from?
dreamy is right!
Gorgeous! I loved it! Love the bed! Feels comfortable!
soo glad to see they kept the natural wood and didn’t paint it white like everyone else does.
fabulous room. love it.
This looks fantastic!!
Preciosa!!!! Yo tambien vivo en una casa de madera, me encantan!!! Y eso que vivo en España
It is like the room is grounded “upside down”. Usually I see rooms with dark floors or furniture anchoring the space with a white ceiling up above giving the room “lift”. All that would is warm and inviting with very creative lines breaking up the space. If it weren’t for the all white furniture it might have felt claustrophobic. Really awesome place to put your head down at night.
I’m not a fan of wood clad rooms but I have to admit this one looks good. She’s done a great job.
It looks absolutely dreamy – I would never leave…
I’m proud to call Jessica one of my dearest friends and yes, she IS the best. You GO GIRL!!!!!
And you too Jesse and Emily!! : )
It really feels like summer in there!
That picket fence has a lot to do with it… ~_•
This room is so beautiful! I love all the bright colors, but it is still really clean.
I usually wouldn’t be a fan of all the wood, but it really works well in this room. Most likely because of the light bedding, high ceilings, and lots of light :)
I literally gasped when I saw this interior. Utterly gorgeous!
I like the little cristals of the chandelier dangling from this impressive angular shaped wooden ceiling. Lovely combination between the fine white bedcover and the knotted woolen rough rug.
i absolutely adore this room! found this beautiful blog when helping my friend set up her google reader. it’s going into mine too. :)
This room is heaven! That picket fence is pure genius.
Wish I could see that woven rug close-up, because it’s the only thing in this room that isn’t resonating with me– I think I’d remove the black tassels.
Overall, just gorgeous!
Interesting Addition!
