Hey friends, It’s Lauren from Color Collective! I’m back…and this time to stay! Grace offered me a weekly column here on Design*Sponge, and needless to say, I jumped at the idea! Every Monday I’m going to be pulling palettes from the beautiful interior images in the D*S home tour archives. The colors extracted will come from walls, furnishings, and décor, in the hopes of producing inspiration for your interior projects. Each of the five colors that make up the palette will be matched with paint names and manufacturers for your convenience!
These images are from the lovely home of Tonje Holand of Darling Clementine, photographed by Nina Ruud. I was immediately drawn to the bright bursts of color, and feeling inspired by the fresh spring/summer hues.

If you would like me to expand or add more to this column, please let me know so that I can meet all your color needs. See you next week with more Simply Color palettes!

Perfect timing–just as I am about to pick colors for my home! I’d love to see an article about selecting the right tones for tricky colors, like grays and creams.
Hi Laura, nice idea. :-)
What would you think about including a Pantone #?
loving the wheat bread color…..both palettes are fantastic!
I like this idea! Would it be possible to expand on how to use the color palettes? I know that there are example photos, but it still might be nice to have some tips on how to pull it all together. Maybe telling us what colors to use where (A for walls, B for drapes/cabinets, C for rugs and pillows…), or however you feel would benefit us. I think a little direction would give me more confidence to use the colors in my own home!
Yay! Congrats Lauren- so happy I now have two places to be inspired by your work ;)
These two palettes are lovely!
This is such a wonderful idea, it will be great seeing more of you on d*s!
YAY!!! Im so stoked for you, Lauren!
What a great addition! Glad you’ll be doing a weekly column Lauren. :)
Congrats Lauren… you are obviously talented. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.
I love love love this idea! Beautiful! Afterall, this is how we process a picture in our brains, isn’t it? I can’t wait to see more!
Yay! that’s such great news Lauren… :)

This is a great addition to the D*S line-up. Great addition, Grace!
I’m glad you will be here every week!!
What a GREAT idea! Only problem is I can’t decide which one of these inspiring palettes I want to use. Decisions, decisions…Thanks!!
Glad to see this will be a regular column!
How funny — I was just looking at d*s earlier this morning to get some paint colour ideas, and noticed that the sneak peeks I looked at generally didn’t have colours listed. Good timing! Thanks, Lauren!
Thank-you for including the paint information. Can’t wait to ge tthe irish country colors palette.
Congrats Lauren and good call Grace! Glad you are here to stay. :)
@ Michelle, Love that idea! What space are you decorating, and how much light does it get? I feel as though that will effect how you implement the palette.
Gorgeous colors and great column! Would love to see the paint colors accompanied by Pantone color #s so they can be used for graphic designs too! Thanks for your work!
So glad you’ll be sticking around! I’ve been loving these color palettes and am thrilled I get to see more each week!
yay! so glad you are doing this Lauren! And I have been looking for a good grey paint – “wheat bread” may be just the ticket – thanks!
I LOVE this column and I love the colors this week! This is a more cute version of what I already have for a kitchen.
Glad to hear you’re staying!
Love this idea, and I was also wondering about Pantone #s?
this is a really practical post to look forward to each week. thanks.
This idea is going to save my life (ok, that was a little dramatic….but it will save me some stress).
This is great! I am color challenged and am trying to bring a bit more color into our space. Baby steps for me… :)
I will look out each week!
this is so great lauren! i was hoping i could see more of you and your work around here! :) such a wonderful addition to a great site! right on!
Color is one of the hardest choices for most, glad to see a great column on the subject!

Yay! I’m such a fan of color, so I’m happy you’ll have a regular column. I especially love the vibrant colors in the photos you’ve chosen for this post.
As a graphic designer, I second the nomination for incorporating Pantone colors into your articles.
This is great! I already started following your blog but I’m glad too see you here too. Plus I love that kitchen, I remember the house tour as it was one of my favorites.
I am already anticipating the next column! Finding a harmonious color palette to use in decorating can be so difficult in practice. This column provides practical inspiration for the color challenged!
LOVING these color palettes, and so excited about this new column!
This is absolutely my new favorite column!!! Can’t wait to see more!!!
I love this feature already! If you wanted to, maybe you could find one accessory in one of the featured colors. I know there are ome in the inspiration pictures, but a pillow cover or candles you could buy would be really fun. Even better if they were handmade/Etsy accessories.
Great idea!!!
Are you up for trying to do the interiors seen on Cougar Town?
I look the article and I also love that shelf and have spent the whole night trying to find it online. If anyone wouldn’t mind helping me out and perhaps leading me in the right direction I’d really appreciate it. You can email me @ amanda_parker81@yahoo.com
Thank you ever so much!
I second Michelle (& Daniella) and Kate – suggestions on how to use the colors and occasionally including an accessory, or piece of furniture, or drapes recommendation in one of the colors could be nice.
Even if not these are wonderful – I loved your guest posts.
Super! I’d love you to write about why things work together too… not necessarily belabouring every relationship between five colours… but notes on why you chose it, why you like it, would be lovely!

Enjoying your information on color. Putting a palette together can be such an overwhelming task. Great photos in this post also. Thank-you
I love this combination! :D I love colourful combinations!
This is the other one that I’m in love with. Linking to my blog. So beautiful. I would love to have wooden countertops like that…granite is overrated. : O )
LOVE this!! So bright and happy!! Loving the layered, collected over time look — it makes a house a home. VERY well done. :)
