today i’m happy to announce a new project i’m starting here at d*s: one-on-one consulting services! i can’t tell you how excited i am to get started because one of my favorite parts of running design*sponge has always been the connections i get to make with other bloggers, designers and business owners.
in many ways, this going to be even better – because now we’ll get to connect one-on-one and come up with specific plans to grow and improve your businesses and blogs.
this all started because over the past seven years (i can’t believe it’s been that long!) i’ve been working behind the scenes with fellow bloggers, business owners, artists and designers – sharing ideas, learning from mistakes, and finding new ways to get past the hurdles that can hold us all back. and i’ve loved it. the problem was that as the site has continued to grow, so have the demands on my time. this has left me with only a couple of hours per week to answer questions, and it feels like i’m spreading myself too thin and not giving the detailed advice that i would if i had more time.
i’ve had to face the (frustrating) fact that i can’t help everyone who asks, at least not all at once. so if I’m going to take the time to help anyone, i want to make sure I do it right. with personal, one-on-one attention that is solely focused on taking your business and blog to the next level.

This is a wonderful idea. I think pr advice would be the most helpful and lead to the other issues of revenue and subscribers etc.
Congratulations! I’d love to hear more about your perspective on featuring designers/products etc.. and how you like to be approached if at all. If someone is looking to get noticed – whats the right way without looking spammy?

Even without the consultation, the survey questions were very helpful to me in figuring out what I truly want to accomplish with my blog, so that was an unexpected eye-opener. I suppose our biggest need at the moment is traffic increase. PR advice would also be helpful as we build, ways to make connections with related businesses, etc.
