TGIF! it’s finally the end of the week and i can’t wait to close up this laptop and get outside and enjoy the sun. so today i thought i’d start things off with some colorful artwork by betsy walton. jordan tweeted about her this week and i was instantly hooked- i love the contrast between the neutral colors she uses and the bright, saturated colors used as accents. you can check out more of betsy’s work right here (including info on her show in portland this july). thanks, jordan!

I just adore these illustrations! All the bright colors are making me so happy!!! Happy Friday! xoxo
Something about these colors remind me of a patchwork quilt. I like the second image a lot… it’s almost like the houses are underwater in a fish bowl.
LOVE this! You should talk to her about making this into the next desktop monthly calendar! ;)
i was thinking the same as jessica!
I second that – gorgeous paintings, so delicate but feel like home.
Beautiful! Reminds me of Matisse.
The contrast of the pale and bright colours, really make these illustrations stand out. You could keep looking at these illustrations and notice something new about them each time. I really like the last one as the room has a spring look to it and then out the window you can see the stars, which is again a great contrast with day and night.
Love the dreamy atmosphere in her work and have two in my room. =))
