food as muse…

by Grace Bonney

food has always been a subject near and dear to my heart, so i love when artists create prints + posters featuring some of my favorite ingredients or dishes. seeing as today is recipe day, i thought i’d kick things off with too food-focused pieces that caught my eye this week. first up was a tip from d*s editor stephanie todaro- she thought i might like these cooking related prints from the eva juliet etsy shop and she was right. the eva juliet shop carries a sweet range of illustrations of ingredients like parsley, rosemary, and cinnamon, as well as recipes for french dishes like carrot soup. i love the delicate line in each illustration, and the affordable price- $18. click here to check out the full collection and pick up a print online. thanks, steph!

next up is a fun series called “things that are round” from beth and carrie at 1canoe2 letterpress. for their round theme, beth and carrie drew all sorts of round objects like bottle tops, gears, pincushions, and- my favorite- pie and donuts. beth and carrie’s drawings come in poster form ($49) right here and letterpress coaster form (9 for $15) right here. i’d love to throw a backyard pie pot-luck and serve everyone drinks on the pie coasters, then follow it up with all sorts of different pie. yum. until then, i’ll just keep drooling over these drawings. click here to check out the 1canoe2 shop on etsy.
