today’s first before & after comes from lori dunbar at fin + roe and marzipan inc. lori found an old pair of shutters at a garage sale for next to nothing and, after picking up a few hinges and steel knobs, transformed them into a hanging jewelry case. i love the final look and the fact that lori didn’t pass up the shutters- she saw potential and brought them back to life. thanks for sharing, lori (click here to read lori’s how-to!)

I love that jewelry cabinet idea! Probably one of the best jewelry storage methods I’ve seen. But if it were me I think I would have kept the fabric, it think that part was really pretty.

Thank God for uninspired people who put great stuff on the curb! Even more for those who turn it into something stunning. Fabulous job on the sofa! I have ten brothers and sisters and we are all seasoned trash-pickers. There’s nothing more fun than finding the hidden beauty in castoffs!
