phew! it’s friday and i am ready to take a little break. this weekend i’m taking an “herbs: in the garden and in floral arrangements” class at saipua, so i thought i’d end with a pretty picture of the flowers i got last week from nicolette’s flower stand in williamsburg. i’ve been trying to track down more sweet juliet roses (those gorgeous peach flowers in front) ever since- what a beautiful flower. if you’re in town, there are 2 spots left in the herb class, so come learn about arranging- i’ll be the girl in the back trying not to make a mess of her flowers. i hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and i’ll see you on monday. until then, a summary of this week’s highlights is below:
- living in: labyrinth
- biz ladies: setting up your biz to accept credit cards
- under $100: vases
- sneak peeks: maria garuti of vintage simple, “kucica” croatian cottage, juliet totten of poppies and posies, vynsie law
- new city guide: nantucket
- diy projects: rubber lace coasters, no 1 ladies detective agency silhouette
- before & afters: lexie’s kitchen + victoria’s bench, dan’s home exterior + kara’s guest bedroom, elizabeth’s bedroom + jane’s speakers, marianne’s suitcase + hayley’s speakers
- small measures with ashley: pollinator habitats
- in the kitchen with: giao trac’s vietnamese spring roll recipe!
- new d*s guest blogger: posts from stockholm design week by emma!

english roses are worse than crack.
happy weekend!
I bet that class is a lot of fun. I wouldn’t mind taking some little classes nothing long just something fun and short.
I love this post! The arrangement is gorgeous! Have fun at the class! :-)
Next time I visit my fried in Red Hook, I desperately want to take a Saipua class.
This has to be one of the best parts about having moved to Brooklyn – I finally get to participate in some of the cool events you mention! I managed to snag the last spot in the class. It’s such a brilliant class idea, and the herb theme is right up my alley. Thanks for the link. :-)
Busy week! Love the no 1 ladies detective agency silhouette especially. Jen x
If I was in New York, I would totally have signed up for that class! Hoping I can plan a visit to coincide with another at some point!
What a lovely mix of flowers. I love it when a bunch of flowers looks more like you have picked them from your grandma’s garden than a more formal, structured bouquet. Love the Sweet Juliet!
I really need to look for some gardening classes soon in seattle! The weather is lovely right now! :)
Have fun in your class and a great weekend!
What a wonderful arrangement! Have a great weekend!
English roses or sweet juliet roses are so beautiful! I had them in my wedding bouquet. It took a lot of work to find them, but it was worth it.
The most beautiful flowers!
Hope you had a nice weekend :)

I would love to take a class like that! I saw your arrangement on Twitter and it looked beautiful! Hope the rest of your weekend was just as cool!
Looks fantastic this flowers!

Oh I signed up for the herbs and floral arrangement class and forgot I was traveling for a wedding this past weekend. I’m bummed I missed it. I love herbs and flower together!!! I hope to see pictures of your arrangement.
