ADORABLE!
The “I like Bracelets” hat is just amazing… I’ll take that in mind for the next kiddie party :)
WOW! So cute! And affordable:) Love this, but it makes me want summer to get here soon!!!
Darling!
was this done for the kids, or for a photo shoot?
Thanks everyone!
Peggy — yes, definitely for the kids! I just happen to be fortunate to have a friend who is a professional photographer that took some photos for us. : )
No kidding Peggy, it’s kind of disturbing… It doesn’t seem like a kids party at all.
I love designsponge, partly because the designs are real world, not just for the look. I’d like to see some more kids party stuff, but geared for the kids. The worst type of design is the kind that gives the facade of a certain lifestyle – turns my stomach actually.

to each their own, but please do remember that for some people, this look isn’t a facade. a lot of people (not myself) happen to live pretty stylish lives, and so their children’s parties might be a bit more stylized than the average kids party. from everything i know of, and have heard of, suann- she’s one of these stylish (and talented and friendly) people, so i’d hate to see people keep jumping on her for pushing an image that isn’t real. “real” is pretty subjective based on your own personal style and way of living. for some people this may feel too highly styled, but for some, this is just how they live. and for me, it’s really fun to catch a glimpse at what life is like in suann’s world- a world i might add that seems to be filled with pretty happy looking children. they don’t seem to be suffering from this supposedly “adult” centered party…

I would agree its a adult-centered party not because its highly stylized but because children this young really have no concept of politics, vintage style or really red/white/blue good ‘ol USA sentiment.
I have thrown parties like this for my kids since they were 1. I too have been accused of over doing it, going to sooo much trouble (smiling) planning for weeks, making too big a deal… it’s easy for me, as I’m a graphic designer. The well-meaning critics don’t throw parties for their little ones, so of COURSE my efforts seem over the top. My kids’ parties look much like this, and now that they are old enough, they choose their own theme. It’s great fun to honor my kids this way. And why shouldn’t I? Why shouldn’t anyone use their talent and passion to honor their sweet babies?? It’s all good!!
I think the details are so special whether it’s for her kids or for the style aspect I’m sure the little ones had a good time just getting involved! I’ve just done my babies christening & blogged about it which was fun! LovT
Good blog. Thanks for sharing.
