salla

there are several beanbag chairs on the market that have this shape right now...i think designers are definitely moving in the elongated triangle direction, and away from the round "blob" shape we used to know.

erika

raw felt is often an industrial by-product, so there could be a reference to that in there, but it may have just been a setting the designer found interesting. i personally enjoy seeing furniture out of its typical setting, it makes me pay more attention to it sometimes.

also, i've seen "beanbag" chairs in adult homes more times than i can count these days- especially those with leather covers. depending on their actual style, they've definitely left the 'kids only' category over the past few years.

The seats are great for girls and young women (college age), but what is up with the setting of the photo shoot? Outside in the snow in front of some industrial equipment? What kind of statement is this making? It doesn't make sense.

Aren't they brilliant? They actually seat two people cozily (lots of people cuddled up on them during the IDS) and are filled with foam cushion off-cuts which makes them a bit firmer and more structured than a regular bean bag chair.
