the image i’m hooked on this morning comes from artist yuken teruya. an everyday toilet paper roll is transformed into carved branches that seem to float on a white wall. it’s such a lovely way of celebrating the things we use everyday and making us think twice about the materials around us. as i slowly wake up this morning i’m now looking around my room to see what everyday object could be transformed into something beautiful…

I love these, they look so delicate and the shadows are great too!
incredible…
That is so freakishly fabulous! Was it done with a regular craft blade? I may have to run to the bathroom to do some arts and crafts…!
Umm…this is WAY cool. I don’t usually get into crafts involving things like toilet paper rolls and egg cartons, but something like this makes me think I might need to expand my vision beyond the third grade art projects!
holy gorgeous!!
These are ephemeral and beautiful. Ordinary objects made extraordinary.
wow, what a great way of turning something we so easily dispose into an intricate piece of art – inspiring!
amazing! i love it.
wow, that’s really cool!
simple, beautiful and really nifty :)
How lovely to create something so
delicate from an item that is
routinely discarded!
To see “Art” in everything, everywhere, is a remarkable gift!
Incredible. These absolutely blow my mind. How stunning.
It makes me so happy when I see people truly this creative (and detail oriented)!
Can you imagine the skill involved in making it so small and perfect? Thanks for sharing.
I love the use of positive and negative space. I going to save all my rolls from now on!!!! I wish I had more to add but pretty much everything I feel has been expressed all ready. These truly are amazing and stunning!
Whoa! I don’t want to stop looking at these.
Just one more comment….You must check out Yuken Teruya’s site. It will amaze and inspire.
Wonderful work, I love this!
Very cool. I normally just use my old TP rolls for English Party Crackers!
Oh these are so pretty so simple and sooooo pretty!
Absolutely incredible. Were you able to do it with a really sharp blade or was it done prick by prick with a pin?
I just love this idea of looking at everyday objects with new eyes. It’s a great way to start my day. It reminds me to look at things in a different way. Thanks!
These are toilet paper rolls; but reminds me of your work. /these would make great candelerias.
That is so beautiful, I never would have imagined you could do that with a toilet paper roll! it’s inspiring.
Instructions?
Actually the rolls are very good to place over seedlings to stop the snails, and egg cartons are brilliant for planting seeds in and whence sprouted can be broken off the carton and placed directly into the garden.
Wow!! Amazing!
so delicate looking. The shadow works too. So did he do these with an exacto knife? Or could they be laser cut?
that’s pretty much unbelievable. love!
